Stellar ClassificationC54J(N3)- giant red carbon star(variable star)


Background Information: La Superba belongs to the Canes Venatici constellation. Canes Venatici  means "hunting dogs" in Latin. In addition, La Superba would go past Mars's orbit if it were placed in the sun's position in our solar system. Angelo Secchi gave La Superba its name because of its beauty.
